When drummer Steve Gadd wanted to create the perfect ride cymbal, he naturally thought of Zildjian as the perfect partner. The drummer, who has worked with Steely Dan, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, and Jon Bon Jovi, among others, joined with Zildjian craftsmen to create the perfect session ride. The Zildjian K Custom Session Ride Cymbal has a very controlled sound, but it features less spread than any of the other K Custom ride cymbals. The Zildjian K Custom Session Ride Cymbal took Zildjian Sound Lab and Steve Gadd several years to create. They continuously tweaked and adjusted the cymbal, working to reproduce the sound and classic tone of Gadd’s cymbals. The Zildjian K Custom Session Ride Cymbal features everything that Gadd loved most about his personal ride cymbal. In addition to the classic sounds that he and all jazz players seek out, these cymbals are incredibly versatile. They’re great for both playing and for recording, plus they work for a number of different types of music, too, although they are primarily useful for jazz. They’re available in 18 and 20 inch sizes.
