It was made especially for players who needed a louder, heavier ride cymbal for their music. This means it’s really only good for rock and some metal. It’s not at all a soft jazz cymbal. The Zildjian A Customs line of ride cymbals is made using several different techniques. First, they aren’t hammered by traditional methods. Instead, a very radical rotary technique is used. This technique creates the unique look of the cymbal. Thin weights are also used, and then the entire cymbal is finished off with a very brilliant finish.
