Sabian HHX Legacy O-Zone Ride Cymbal
The Sabian HHX Legacy O-Zone Ride Cymbal has a design like no other. It actually has five small holes in it. The O-Zone is one of Sabian’s experiments with multi-hole cymbals, and it’s also one of their most successful. These holes make it a lot lighter than other ride cymbals, and this results in an increased response rate. It also gives the cymbal a dark and somewhat dirty bite, creating a very different kind of sound. You can actually crash the top portion of the cymbal, while the lower section is more for riding and has not been lathed. What we Found
Sabian has actually been designing multi-hole cymbals since the nineties, but few drummers really had any interest in them until Dave Weckl began using them. The O-Zone Ride gives players access to sounds that are dark, dirty, and very aggressive. The versatility of the cymbal is amazing, and it’s all due to the holes. These make the cymbal more like a thin, lightweight cymbal instead of the medium sized cymbal that it actually is.
Conclusion
The HHX Legacy O-Zone is all hand-crafted and hammered by Sabian’s craftsmen out of the company’s special B20 bronze. It comes in a natural finish, and in one size—20 inch.
