The Sabian HHX Evolution Ride Cymbal is a very sturdy ride that gives and breathes. It’s got an airy like sound but it can also cut right through any sound and be heard over the din. The HHX Evolution line was created via a collaboration between Sabian and Dave Weckl. Weckl set out to create a great ride that would be powerful, musical, and, above all else, very playable. He wanted rides that would respond to the slightest touch of the stick, and that’s exactly what he and Sabian created with the HHX Evolution. The cymbal is available in a 20 inch and is priced competitively with other rides, although there aren’t really any other rides out there that compare to it.

The HHX Evolution does feature a lathed surface, but its bell is left unlathed to give it that raw sound. The entire cymbal, however, is finished in a glossy brilliant finish that adds to the responsiveness of the cymbal.
