Sabian B8 Crash Ride Cymbal
The Sabian B8 Crash Ride Cymbal is a very solid cymbal for drummers on a budget. While it’s not the greatest cymbal ever created, it does feature that great explosive crash combined with a full ride response, making it a very good multipurpose cymbal for those who don’t have a lot of money to spend on their drum kit. It is fairly bright and well-defined, but it does build up quickly and it gets a little off if you get away from the bell. It can be somewhat louder than you might expect, too, especially when you crash it. It is, however, very durable, and it’s not going to ding or dent very easily. It seems to really work better as a crash, but it can be used as a ride if you don’t mind a long sustain and loud, overpowering sound. What we Found
Sabian created the B8 line of cymbals specifically for those on a budget. Their goal with the line was to create powerful, professional cymbals that didn’t cost that much. They are fully hammered and lathed, giving them the penetrating, focused sound of a cymbal that costs two or three times the price of a B8. They’re not poorly made at all, so while it’s not the greatest cymbal ever, the Sabian B8 Crash Ride is a solid cymbal.
