Paiste Signature Blue Bell Ride Cymbal
Paiste has worked with a number of different famous drummers to create ride cymbals, and the Paiste Signature Blue Bell Ride Cymbal is one of these. It was created in collaboration with Stewart Copeland. His unique drumming style that he developed and displayed as the drummer for The Police caught the attention of a generation of players, and many have tried to imitate him over the years. That’s easier now that they can add the Blue Bell Ride to their drum kits. A relatively new ride cymbal, the Blue Bell shows off Paiste’s dedication to quality and tradition.What we Found
The Blue Bell Ride comes in one size, a 22 inch, and it is actually based on Paiste’s Dark Metal Ride cymbal. However, Stewart Copeland took that cymbal and made his own modification to it, creating the Blue Bell Ride. The cymbal includes several changes from the Dark Metal Ride, including using Paiste’s ColourSound coating, making the cymbal partly blue on the top and completely blue on the bottom.
Conclusion
The Blue Bell has a very clear ping and a slightly dark sound to it. Its strong bell is exactly what you’d think it would be in a cymbal created by a member of the Police. In addition to the standard Paiste logo, the Blue Bell also sports Copeland’s Rider logo and the Rhythmatist logo. As with all Paiste cymbals, it’s hand-made in Switzerland using traditional methods.
